See the truth. See the potential.
Working within the Youth Custody Service is rewarding and challenging.
A Youth Justice Worker has many important roles, including facilitating the personal, social and emotional development of the young people in their care, many of whom are particularly vulnerable or have complex and challenging needs, whilst retaining security within a safe and secure environment, and reducing risk of reoffending.
Training is provided for Youth Justice Workers to ensure a clear understanding of the individual circumstances for young people in custody, and how reactions in complex or dynamic situations are key to ensuring these children are helped to build better lives.
We are looking for people who have a special talent in seeing the potential in young people. If you’re someone with empathy, patience and a desire to help, we would love to hear from you.
